Privacy Policy

Short version: we collect as little as possible, we run our own privacy-friendly analytics (no third-party trackers), and we never sell your data.

What we collect

• Comments, ratings, and helpful votes. If you leave a comment, rate a product, or vote a comment helpful, we store what you submitted (your display name, your text, your star rating) so it can be shown to other readers. That's it — no accounts, no passwords.
• First-party analytics. We count page views and clicks on our Amazon links using our own server — no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no third-party scripts. We remember which ad or campaign brought you here (via standard utm_ link parameters) so we know which guides are useful; that attribution is kept in your browser's own localStorage on your device, not in a cookie, and you can clear it any time in your browser settings. Your IP address is stored only as a one-way hash, never in readable form, and we set no tracking cookies.
• Server logs. Like every website, our server keeps basic technical logs (IP address, pages requested, timestamps) for security and troubleshooting. We don't use them to profile visitors.

What we don't do

• No third-party trackers. There is no Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar third-party tracking on this site. Our analytics run on our own server only.
• No data sales. We never sell, rent, or share your information with data brokers.
• No email list. We don't ask for your email address anywhere on this site.

Third parties

• YouTube embeds. Some pages embed YouTube videos using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which is designed to limit tracking until you play the video. If you play a video, YouTube's own privacy policy applies.
• Amazon links. Outbound links go to amazon.com. Once you leave our site, Amazon's privacy policy applies.

Your content

You can ask us to remove a comment you posted by leaving a note in the comments on the same page, and we'll take it down.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
